The 2020 Flint Chrome And Ice Show Recap

What an AMAZING event. Let us just start off by thanking everyone at the Chrome & Ice Show for a great time. We always have fun interacting with all the wonderful people there. From the other vendors to all the owners of the beautiful cars, the atmosphere was electric. We showed up at the Dort Federal Event Center at 8 o’clock Friday morning. The rush was crazy. There were so many classic cars being unloaded and driven into every door on each floor of the building. They had 138 total cars spread out around the event center. Our spot was located above the main arena on the outer walk way. Thousands of people walked by. Nearly each person had something positive to say about the setup.

We took Gary’s 2003 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Motor Trike, Richard’s 2005 GL1800 Motor Trike, and the shop’s 2005 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. We wanted to really show off the trikes we built and have a normal bike with us that would allow a person to visualize the differences and really see the detail in our work. Both Gary and Rich have light packages and each bike is decked out in chrome. When showing the bikes, you can really see how the accessories give the bikes and trikes the something extra to set them apart. We enjoyed our talks with everyone and learned some new things along the way too. This morning a few of us here actually began discussing some ways we could improve and what we could do different next year. We also met some other riders that put on different cruises and rides. This summer a group of us here are definitely planning on attending some of those. We keep you posted and let you know more about them as we learn more ourselves.

As for life around the shop a few more jobs have come in and things have been turning. We are finishing up a motor rebuild for a Harley Ultra Classic. Just a little freshening up, you know? New cams, Heads, Pistons… The whole nine yards. We also have a few other bikes in for some mechanical work. We did a clutch job last week and put some new pipes on for someone else. We also have a 2014 Harley Davidson Police Bike all torn apart. The bike has begun it’s transformation into a Motor Trike. Some pictures will be up of the process as we get nearer to it being completed.

The next big event for us is Thunder Across the Thumb. That will be the first weekend in May, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. for more information on that give us a call. We’re getting close. This winter has not been terrible with snow or really that cold, and the roads honestly are not looking that bad. Maybe it was just spending this weekend around so many nice cars, or maybe talking about our trikes all weekend, but I am really looking forward to this riding season.
